In this feature, I share with you three comic book "easter eggs." An easter egg is a joke/visual gag/in-joke that a comic book creator (typically the artist) has hidden in the pages of the comic for readers to find (just like an easter egg). They range from the not-so-obscure to the really obscure. So come check 'em all out and enjoy! Also, click here for an archive of all the easter eggs featured so far! If you want to suggest an easter egg for a future column, e-mail me at bcronin@comicbookresources.com (do not post your suggestion in the comments section!).

Today we begin a thorough (although not consecutive, week-wise, as that would get boring quickly) look at all the various Easter Eggs in the pages of DC's 52! We begin with #1 (as suggested by reader Alvaro G.).

The idea here is that I'll feature three easter eggs from 52. If they're all in one issue, I'll feature just that issue, if it takes more than one issue to hit three easter eggs, I'll feature multiple issues.

This time around, breakdown artist Keith Giffen, penciled Joe Bennett and inker Ruy Jose give us a bunch.

First off, notice the number on the firefighter's helmet...

Next, here's the mother lode...

You have Dan Didio hot dogs, you have Siegel and Shuster intersecting and you have the Fleischer Brothers on the side of a bus...

Am I missing any other easter eggs from that panel?
