Again, coinciding with First Second Books' Vampire Month, here's the next in our alphabet of comic book vampires!

Enjoy!

John Falsworth (Baron Blood)

Baron Blood was John Falsworth, the brother of James Falsworth, the original Union Jack.

He fought against his brother and also attacked his niece.

In the fight, James was crippled and Blood bit his niece Jacqueline. However, due to a transfusion from the Human Torch, Jacqueline not only lived, but became the superhero, Spitfire.

James passed the torch on to his son, Brian Falsworth.

Brian and the Invaders met up with Baron Blood later on.

However, the most notable Baron Blood story by FAR was during Roger Stern and John Byrne's Captain America run, where they had the Union Jack name pass on once again, but also had Baron Blood (who kept getting killed) return again in the present, with some notable consequences...

First, there was this awesome cliffhanger...

And then, in probably the coolest use of the chain mail yet, this happens...

And finally, in one of the hardcore Captain America scenes...

Well done by Stern and Byrne! How come no one has written an Everybody's Somebody's Baby essay for that run? It was awesome!

Baron Blood is awesome, too.
