There are a lot of cool comic book blogs out there (see our sidebar for a list of a bunch of them), but I guess it is hard to pick which ones you think you'd like to read. So each week, I will feature a guest entry by a really cool comic blogger, and you all can then check out that comic blog after you see how cool they are from their guest bit. Today's entry comes from RAB, of Estoreal, a fun blog where RAB writes interesting (and often humorous) essays about comic books and culture in general.
For his guest entry, RAB is sharing with us his particular brand of humor by satiring a comic blog schtick you folks might be familiar with. He calls it "Snark Filled Corner."

COMIC BOOK URBAN LEGENDS REVEALED!

COMIC URBAN LEGEND: The new Batwoman was originally intended to be male and the world's first transvestite superhero, but this plan was scrapped at the last minute.
STATUS: False. Come on, nobody thinks this is true. Are you on drugs or something? Besides, everyone knows the world's first male transvestite superhero was Meta Maid, created by Grant Morrison in Zenith.
COMIC URBAN LEGEND: Rob Liefeld's Youngblood #1 in 1992 was the first comic book to be printed on paper.
STATUS: False. Despite Liefeld's claim that he was the first to think of this, comic books were actually printed on paper for several decades prior, all the way back to the start of the medium. His additional claim to have invented staples to hold the pages together also does not stand up to close scrutiny.
COMIC URBAN LEGEND: As classmates in their freshman year at the University of Michigan, Judd Winick and Brad Meltzer swore a solemn oath to infiltrate DC Comics and utterly destroy the company from within.
STATUS: This turned out to be true.
