Cobie Smulder is about to leap from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to another big-budget action franchise.

According to TheWrap, the "Captain America: Winter Soldier" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" actress is in early talks to star opposite Tom Cruise in Paramount Pictures' "Jack Reacher" sequel.

Directed by Ed Zwick, the follow-up to the 2012 action thriller is based on Lee Child's 18th Jack Reacher novel "Never Go Back," in which the ex-military police officer returns to headquarters to find his one-time commanding officer has been arrested.

Paramount is targeting production to begin in November for a late-2016 release.
