CM Punk adds "comic book writer" to his growing list of credits with a story in February's "Thor Annual" #1, and the pro wrestler-turned-UFC fighter talked with USA Today about his contribution to the issue.

"He's going to Midgard and slaying dragons and hanging out with Vikings and drinking all their mead and sleeping with all their women," Punk told USA Today of his story. "He's kind of taking the whole 'I'm the thunder god' responsibility pretty lightly."

Punk teams with "Chew" artist Rob Guillory for the tale, which sees Mephisto and young Thor engaging in a drinking contest. Guillory praised Punk's writing for capturing the distinct voice of the former WWE Champion.

"His voice is really, really edgy but it has almost a cartoony, Looney Tunes-esque silly sense of humor that came across in a lot of the treatment of Mephisto," Guillory told the paper.

Punk is currently in training for his yet-to-be scheduled debut UFC fight, and talked to USA Today about the difficulty in finding the time to write comics -- though it's something he's still looking to pursue beyond the "Thor Annual" and his story in Vertigo's "Strange Sports Stories" anthology. "I'm not signing on to do a 24-issue, crazy all-encompassing Marvel Universe story arc or anything like that, nor do I think they're going to give me that sort of responsibility," Punk said to USA Today. "So, baby steps. We'll get there."

"Thor Annual" #1, also featuring contributions from regular series writer Jason Aaron and artist Tim Truman, plus "Lumberjanes" co-writer Noelle Stevenson and artist Marguerite Sauvage, is scheduled for release on Feb. 25.
