Matt Lanter has just been cast in a new time travel drama at NBC from "Supernatural" and "The Shield" creators Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan. The show is currently called "Time," and is said to be a mashup of "Back to the Future" and "Mission Impossible."

Lanter, who voiced Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," and Harry Osborn in "Ultimate Spider-Man," joins previously cast Abigail Spencer ("Suits," "Cowboys and Aliens.")

According to Deadline, who broke the news of Lanter's casting, "Time" will be a "high-octane drama following an unlikely trio who travel through time to battle a master criminal intent on altering the fabric of human history with potentially catastrophic results."

"Time" is currently in the pilot phase, and if it gets picked up, will likely air in the fall.
