Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Civil War” featured an unprecedented amount of superheroes and, where there are superheroes, there are spectacular visual effects. VFX and feature animation studio CINEsite have released a new VFX reel, which showcases the very best effects in the industry.

The VFX reel shows how CINEsite brought Black Panther’s retractable claws and "vibranium weave" costume to the big screen. The layers of color and detailing are broken down in stages over the impressive live-action performed by Chadwick Boseman in the fight scene against the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).

The video also details how they created the Quinjet aircraft, and how the team converted a rustic landscape in Iceland into the frozen depths of Siberia where the secret Hydra facility is hidden.

There’s even a brief glimpse at the end of the video of Spider-man’s (Tom Holland) web shooters and the laser placed there by Tony Stark.

The designers at CINEsite are no strangers to creating great action VFX -- having previously worked on “Ant-Man” and “Independence Day: Resurgence." Fans can see their work next in “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them,” releasing later this year.

“Captain America: Civil War” is available now on Digital HD, DVD and Blu-ray.
