Forget the Enterprise; Chris Pine is about to sail forth on a different frontier.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the star of Star Trek Into Darkness and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit has been tapped to lead The Finest Hours for Disney and director Craig Gillespie. The film tells the true story of a 1952 Noreaster that endangered the lives of two oil tanker crews, leaving it up to the Coast Guard to make a daring rescue attempt.

Pine is expected to film The Finest Hours before production begins on his third Star Trek movie, which still doesn't have a director now that J.J. Abrams is focused on Star Wars.
