Chris Hemsworth and director Ron Howard have teamed up again, this time for a film that's a bit larger in scale than their previous collaboration, Rush. As the teaser trailer for In the Heart of the Sea reveals, Howard and Hemsworth are bringing to life the true story of the Essex, a whale ship whose encounter with a sperm whale in the southern Pacific Ocean inspired Moby Dick.

As the drama is set in August 1819, Hemsworth carries a harpoon instead of a hammer and is decked out in period-appropriate garb. The film also stars Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Tom Holland, Brendan Gleeson, Michelle Fairley, Frank Dillane, Charlotte Riley, Donald Sumpter and Ben Whishaw. While the incident would go on to inspire Moby Dick, this film is actually based on a book by Nathaniel Philbrick about the historical event.

In the Heart of the Sea opens in March 2015. You can check out the full trailer below.
