Even though it takes place in a galaxy far, far away, "Star Wars" has somehow become inextricably tied to Christmas. It all started with concept artist Ralph McQuarrie's Lucasfilm holiday cards, which put Santa hats on characters like Artoo, Threepio and Yoda and placed them in merry scenes. Since then, there's been the "Star Wars Holiday Special" and the forgotten Christmas album and tons of Star Wars ornaments and holiday accessories.

Now, in the grand tradition of all of those curious intergalactic Christmas artifacts, the folks over at How It Should Have Ended have compiled together this video of Chewbacca the Wookiee singing one of the most reverent Christmas carols of all time, "Silent Night." Using grunts and growls from the original "Star Wars" trilogy (and "The Force Awakens"), we get a hint of what it must be like to fly in the Millennium Falcon during the month of December. Who knew Chewie was a caroler?
