Ramón Rodríguez, best known for his roles in The Wire and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, has been cast as Bosley in ABC’s revival of Charlie’s Angels, Deadline reports.
He joins a cast led by Annie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor, who star as a trio of sexy private eyes working in Miami for the mysterious, unseen Charlie (Robert Wagner). Rodríguez’s Bosley differs from the role originated by David Doyle in the original series and later portrayed by Bill Murray and Bernie Mac in the two movies. In the remake, Bosley is not only Charlie’s liaison but also a charming and funny computer hacker.
The 31-year-old Rodríguez will next be seen in Battle: Los Angeles and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Charlie’s Angels is being produced by Smallville collaborators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also wrote the pilot. It’s executive-produced Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen, producers of the 2000 movie Charlie’s Angels and the 2003 sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, and Leonard Goldberg, one of the producers of the original series.
