Official Press Release
Comic Book Resources, the most popular and trusted website featuring breaking news about fans’ favorite comics franchises, graphic novels, movie adaptations and video games, today announces its plans for coverage of Comic-Con International in San Diego, following the launch of its newly-designed homepage at www.comicbookresources.com. The re-launched website offers users a multimedia-rich environment with streaming trailers, comic tweets, an interactive events calendar, blogs, trending topics and breaking news.
Throughout Comic-Con — the biggest yearly event internationally for pop culture fans, running July 21-24 — Comic Book Resources offers exclusive, breaking news, as well as interviews with some of the most sought-after celebrities and industry insiders from the worlds of comics, film and television. This year, Comic Book Resources will syndicate its reporting through top movie critics website Rotten Tomatoes.
Rotten Tomatoes Editor-in-Chief Matt Atchity comments, “By sourcing CBR’s breaking news stories in addition to our own coverage, we’ll ensure our readers get the latest insider buzz, hottest trends and best interviews to come out of Comic-Con.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Rotten Tomatoes, bringing our top Comic-Con stories to their audience,” says Comic Book Resources Executive Producer Jonah Weiland. “Our re-launch hit just in time for the most exciting trade event in our industry. Comic-Con isn’t just for the hardcore comics fans — it’s one of the best places for fans of movies and television to get a preview of what’s on the horizon.”
At Comic-Con 2011, Comic Book Resources has lined up major exclusives from Marvel Comics, DC Comics and every major publisher, video game company, television network and film studio. CBR will be headquartered in its traditional location on a 46-foot yacht docked at the marina directly behind the San Diego Convention Center where the Comic Book Resources news team will conduct video interviews with comics creators and celebrities throughout the weekend.
Journalists are welcome to contact Comic Book Resources prior to the event, to check in on the action at CBR’s floating newsroom and studio.
