Produced by Warner Bros. Television and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions, the drama is set in Castle Rock, the fictional town in Maine so frequently featured in King's novels and novellas, and intertwines many of the characters and themes of his works.

According to Deadline, Glenn will play Alan Pangborn, the former sheriff on Castle Rock introduced in 1989's The Dark Half, and featured in a more central role in 1991's Needful Things. The character was previously portrayed onscreen by Ed Harris and Michael Rooker.

Glenn joins a cast that includes Andre Holland, Sissy Spacek, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy and Bill Skarsgard.

Introduced in King’s 1979 novel The Dead Zone, tiny Castle Rock has served as the setting of such popular works as Cujo, The Body and Needful Things. The town has been referenced in many more of the author’s books, including Pet Sematary, It, The Stand, Under the Dome and Doctor Sleep.

A veteran actor whose long list of credits includes Apocalypse Now, The Right Stuff, Silverado, The Hunt For Red October and The Silence of the Lambs, Glenn plays Matt Murdock's mentor Stick on Daredevil and The Defenders.
