The American/Canadian-produced series "Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future" will be getting the reboot treatment from original series creator Gary Goddard.

Being rebranded as "Phoenix Rising," the show is being revamped and will be hyped at San Diego Comic-Con this week. Deadline is reporting that Goddard and former SyFy execs Thomas Vitale and Craig Engler are working on the reboot through their respective production companies.

The original series consisted of 22 episodes and ran from 1987 to 1988. The show took place in the 22nd century following a cybernetic revolt. The show's main character, Captain Jonathan Power, fought against the machines with his 'soldiers of the future.'

No word yet as to when the new series will take place or which network will air it.
