Original plans for the upcoming Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson, involved the movie being filmed from a script penned by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman. According to a new report on Deadline, Marvel has opted to have Robertson-Dworet take over the script after LeFauve had to leave to co-direct Gigantic, a big-budget animated feature from Marvel's sister studio, Disney Animation. There is no word on why Perlman left the movie as well.

Robertson-Dworet is no stranger to action movies, with script credits including MGM's anticipated Tomb Raider reboot starring Alicia Vikander, and Warner Bros.' Gotham City Sirens, the Suicide Squad spin-off that will see Margot Robbie reprise her DC Extended Universe role of Harley Quinn.
