While the marketing for Captain Marvel indicated the Skrulls were the movie's bad guys, it was the Kree's leader, the Supreme Intelligence, who was the true villain, aiming to wipe the race of shape-shifting aliens out. A deleted scene from the movie adds an even more sinister aspect to the Supreme Intelligence while showing a more a pitiful side to Yon-Rogg (Jude Law).

The scene begins with Yon-Rogg approaching the Supreme Intelligence, which assumes his form and starts to berate him for his failure. The Supreme Intelligence then accuses him of having feelings for Carol, which he refutes. The Supreme Intelligence continues to chastise Yon-Rogg, who lies about his failures and eventually breaks down. He then asks for permission to kill Carol, but the Supreme Intelligence instead commands him to retrieve her and the Tesseract.

As the Supreme Intelligence takes the form of the person one admires most, the clip highlights Yon-Rogg's narcissism, while also highlighting his weakness. The scene also shows a more abusive side to the Supreme Intelligence, with it talking down to Yon-Rogg and instilling fear in him. This definitely adds a much more eerie element to the Supreme Intelligence, showing another, more disturbing way it leads the Kree.
