Although most everyone was expecting it on Thursday, Paramount Pictures debuted the first full-length trailer for Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger this evening on the Entertainment Tonight website.
Narrated by Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips, the trailer features — as the earlier previews suggested — a lot of footage of a pre-Super-Soldier Serum Steve Rogers, and slowly builds to his transformation into the Sentinel of Liberty.
Directed by Joe Johnston, Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Stanley Tucci, Richard Armitage, Natalie Dormer, Dominic Cooper, Neal McDonough, Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. It opens on July 22.
Captain America: The First Avenger will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).
