Advance reviews for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" have been overwhelmingly positive, so it's little surprise that advance ticket sales would be high -- and according to The Hollywood Reporter, advance sales are not just high, they're record-breaking. Joe and Anthony Russo's "Captain America" sequel is currently the top-selling April-releasing film in Fandango's 14 year history, and if ticket sales continue at the same pace, "The Winter Soldier" may be the top April film of all time, crossing $90 million with speculation that ticket sales could go as high as $100 million for the U.S. opening weekend. The number is even more impressive compared to the launch of "Captain America: The First Avenger," which grossed $65 million domestic in its first weekend.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" has already done very well overseas, currently sitting with a gross over $100 million.

CBR's Todd Gilchrist praised the anticipated sequel, calling it "a wonderfully-mounted, fun, smart and engaging movie, full of provocative ideas and breathtaking set pieces -- in short, all it effectively needs to be to succeed."

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and opening April 4, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Robert Redford, Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Jones, Hayley Atwell, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, Georges St. Pierre and Maximiliano Hernandez.
