CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
MTV News notes the appeareance of actor J.J. Feild in the cast list as “Montgomery Falsworth” — Union Jack — on IMDB. “With his roles having thus far been limited to smaller British films and TV series, it’s not likely most Americans have seen Feild before. That may change as the actor cuts quite a convincing figure as the potential hero,” they write. Of course, they note IMDB is itself a big rumor mill and cannot always be trusted. Meanwhile, over at Comic Book Movie, there is talk of Amy Smart appearing in the film as “Golden Girl.” Of course, anything beyond that is speculation. Also, it is interesting to see casting rumors still happening for this film as it is currently shooting in the UK.
Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011
KICK-ASS 2: BALLS TO THE WALL
Mark Millar tells MTV News the film sequel is closer than one would think. “We’re probably about nine months away from production starting, at the earliest, because Matthew [Vaughn]’s got to do ‘X-Men: First Class’,” he said. Though some perceive the first film as a commercial failure, the writer notes “They made $100 million on a $28 million movie.”
Release date: TBA
Production Weekly reports on their Twitter page the production will start later than initially reported. “Update: Marvel’s ‘The Runaways’ (aka ‘Small Faces’), is scheduled to begin filming in March in L.A.,” they write, also linking to a Twitter post from early July indicated production would begin in January.
Release date: 2012
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
Rose Byrne acts oddly coy to The Press Association when asked about her appearance in the film. “Well, I feel like I don’t want to get in trouble so I’m just not going to say anything,” she replies when asked if she will be playing Moira MacTaggert. Truly odd if you ask me. Of course, she was asked this question during a post-Emmy Awards party and may not have been prepared for such questioning.
Release date: June 3rd, 2011
According to Ed Gross at Comic Book Movie, the film will premiere at the Paley Center in Los Angeles on the 21st of September and then screen again at the Paley Center in New York on the 23rd. “A limited number of free tickets are available for the general public. Fans wishing to receive free tickets to the Los Angeles event on Sept. 21 must RSVP via email to SupermanBatmanLA@gmail.com. Fans in New York City wishing to receive free tickets to the NY event on Sept. 23 must RSVP via email to SupermanBatmanNY@gmail.com,” he writes.

THE WALKING DEAD
Fangoria reports the series is already planing its second season. “Word from a crew source on the show’s home turf in Atlanta is that ‘The Walking Dead’ will resume shooting for the follow-up season next February,” they write. No word on if the series will continue with the six-episode format.

Yesterday, I mentioned Philip K Dick’s “kipple” concept — the detritus of modern life having a will of its own. The kipple accumulating in the office and my house definitely appears to be breeding with receipts I don’t remember and shipping packages yet to be discarded. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, ready for the future threat of five generations worth of kipple.
