Dynamite Entertainment announced police procedural miniseries "Control" back at New York Comic Con 2013, with the series then scheduled to debut in early 2014. That didn't happen, and it's now more than two years later without much in the way of updates on the book, set to be co-written by the husband-and-wife team of "Losers" writer Andy Diggle and Angela Cruickshank -- until now.

CBR has the exclusive first word that "Control" is on track for a June debut, and has gained a new artist in the interim: Andrea Mutti, taking over from original series artist Ben Oliver, who remains on board as cover artist for issue #1.

"Police procedurals are massive in film, television, and fiction, but they've always been strangely under-represented in comics," Diggle said back in Dynamite's original 2013 announcement. "Even the very best of them, like 'Gotham Central,' 'Powers' and 'Chew,' often have an element of the weird, the supernatural, or the downright spandexy. With Control, we wanted to write a 100 percent police procedural, the kind of smart, character-driven, real-world crime drama that rules on TV."

Here's the first look at Guiseppe Camuncoli's variant cover for "Control" #1, plus solicitation text for the issue. "Control" #1 is scheduled for release on June 1.
