Warner Bros. isn't ready to let go of American Sniper star Bradley Cooper just yet.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is negotiating for the film rights to Gregg Hurwitz's upcoming novel Orphan X for Cooper to produce and possibly star in. Hurwitz, a crime novelist who's also penned such comics as Batman: The Dark Knight and The Vengeance of Moon Knight, will write the screenplay.

Debuting in February 2016 from MacMillan, Orphan X is described as a thriller that centers on Evan Smoak, a "Nowhere Man" who helps others, "sometimes through violent means." When he takes on one job, however, he's drawn into a world of human slavery, engineered by an LAPD detective.Cooper has been on a roll, receiving his third Oscar nomination in as many years for American Sniper, which has grossed more than $361 million worldwide.
