David Ayer will keep audiences on the edge of their seats when Fury hits on Oct. 17.

The director of films like Sabotage and End of Watch crafted an intense World War II tank film starring Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Bernthal and Michael Peña, as you can see in this pair of clips.

The first features Pitt's Sgt. Wardaddy making new recruit Cobb (Lerman) face the reality of killing captured enemies, while the second offers a look at one of the film's tank battles between Fury and a more modern German tiger tank, complete with commentary by Ayer and others.

April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
