Paramount Pictures apparently wasn't just posturing about plans for a sequel to World War Z, the big-budget apocalyptic horror film loosely based on the bestselling novel by Max Brooks.

“We’re certainly talking about it, yes,” star and producer Brad Pitt tells Variety. “We have so many ideas on the table from the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how the zombie worlds work. [...] We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further.”

Although World War Z was plagued by production problems, and opened to decidedly mixed reviews, the $190 million film went on to gross more than $536 million worldwide. It was initially planned as part of a trilogy.
