Vincent Cassel, the French actor known for his roles in "Black Swan," "Eastern Promises" and "Ocean's Thirteen," will play the villain in the next Jason Bourne film.

The news arrives courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, just as camera as set to roll on the fifth film in Universal Pictures' lucrative franchise. Cassell, who plays a mysterious man referred to as "the asset," joins Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones in the film.

Paul Greengrass has returned to direct from a script he wrote with Christopher Rouse, with input from Damon, who returns for his fourth Bourne film.

The still-untitled movie opens July 29, 2016.
