Last summer, a story hit that Bryan Singer was bringing classic X-Men villain the Blob back to the big screen in "X-Men: Apocalypse." At the time, neither the director nor Fox would confirm the character's involvement in the film, but now Singer has confirmed the rumor by posting a new image from the movie.

The picture shows a scarred up Blob flat on his back in a cage match with Ben Hardy's Angel. The cage scene is familiar from trailers that showed Angel duking it out with Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

"Mutant Martial Arts. Light as a feather," Singer captioned the picture, adding the hashtags, "#MMA #Xmen #xmenApocalypse."

Blob, aka Fred Dukes, first appeared on screen in 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" portrayed by Kevin Durand, but fans should rejoice at his (likely even smaller) role in "Apocalypse." Like much of the film's mutants, the character looks to be dressed in an outfit that's extremely close to his comic book counterpart: a black full-body suit with yellow accents around the waist, shoulders, ankles, and wrists.
