Though he isn't one of the famous names being floated for the "Space Jam" sequel, Los Angeles Clippers player Blake Griffin is clearly a big "Looney Tunes" fan. After dunking on Marvin the Martian in 2015, he's back to take on the Monstars in a new Foot Locker x Jordan ad.

The Monstars, the villainous alien basketball team from "Space Jam," are totally dominant --downright "unbeatable," in fact. With the help of Bugs Bunny, Griffin challenges them after they lock up a community basketball court. Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls also appears in the ad to narrate and declare, "I hate Monstars."

The original "Space Jam" was released in 1996 and starred Michael Jordan. “Space Jam” became an instant hit with fans of Looney Tunes and NBA superstars, and went on to gross over 230 million at the box office. It has since become a staples of '90s nostalgia, even inspiring a series of 20th anniversary screenings this November.

Directed by Justin Lin and written by Lin, Alfredo Botello, Andrew Dodge and Willie Ebersol, "Space Jam 2" will star Lebron James. The rest of the cast hasn't been announced yet – so maybe Griffin and Butler still have a chance.
