Lionsgate has debuted the first two clips from "Gods of Egypt," the CG-filled fantasy spectacle from "The Crow" director Alex Proyas.

In the first, Elodie Yung's Egyptian goddess Hathor rescues Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's god Horus and Brenton Thwaites Bek from a giant, fire-breathing snake. The second scene features a tense exchange between Horus and Thoth, the god played by Chadwick Boseman, who will make his debut as Black Panther in Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War."

The film centers on an unexpected mortal hero (Thwaites) who must enlist the help of the god Horus to save the world and rescue his true love. They must form an unlikely alliance against Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once-peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict.

Opening Feb. 26, “Gods of Egypt” also stars Geoffrey Rush, Rufus Sewell, Abbey Lee and Courtney Eaton.
