After joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2014, actor Chadwick Boseman finally made his debut as the Black Panther in last year's "Captain America: Civil War." That film, which sported an already-massive cast without the addition of Boseman and Tom Holland (Spider-Man), managed to set up Black Panther's origin as well as his character's upcoming solo outing. Now, with production of "Black Panther" under way in Atlanta, we're beginning to learn more about the film's plot.

According to East Bay Times, the Oakland, California-based AC Transit public transportation agency has granted Marvel Studios permission to use its 1990s-era logo in the film. The newspaper asserts "Black Panther" will feature a flashback to 1990, to T'Challa's time at Saint Mary’s College High School, requiring the use of an AC Transit bus. That, of course, isn't entirely unsurprising, as in the comics, T'Challa traveled to the United States for school under the alias Luke Charles.

Because principal photography is taking place at Pinewood Atlanta Studios, and not in the Oakland area, the Marvel production will rent a vintage bus and simply use the 1990s AC Transit logo.

Directed and co-written by Oakland native Ryan Coogler ("Fruitvale Station," "Creed"), Marvel's "Black Panther" stars Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Sterling Brown, and reportedly, Phylicia Rashad. The film opens Feb. 16, 2018.
