In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Arrow" and "The Flash" executive producer Greg Berlanti offered more insight into The CW's upcoming spinoff of those two shows, including the vibe the pilot will aim for and Robbie Amell's notable absence from the original reports announcing the show.

"For me, it honors all of the great team up movies, whether it's 'Ocean's Eleven' or whether it's the superhero books," Berlanti said. "That's what it's about. If you go back to the old westerns, there would be 'The Lone Gunman,' but there would also be 'The Magnificent Seven.' It's very much in the spirit of those kinds of movies and shows."

On the subject of Firestorm, however, he couldn't offer too much information. With Victor Garber attached to the untitled spinoff, Amell -- the other half of Firestorm -- is noticeably absent from the cast list thus far. Though Berlanti said there was a reason for this, he admitted to EW, "I can't say why."

The show is slated to star Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm) and Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/Canary, potentially in a new role given her character's demise at the beginning of "Arrow" season three).
