As fans wait for "Doctor Strange" to materialize in theaters, a new photo has surfaced of Benedict Cumberbatch as a battle-weary Sorcerer Supreme from the upcoming Marvel Studios film.

Arriving courtesy of Yahoo! Movies' fall preview, the image depicts Stephen Strange, blood trickling from his temple, standing in an ornate room amid broken glass. Whether that's the good doctor's Sanctum Sanctorum remains to be seen.

Directed and co-written by Scott Derrickson, the film follows top neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, who, after a career-ending car accident, sets off on a journey of healing, where he encounters the Ancient One, who becomes his mentor in the mystic arts.

Opening Nov. 4, "Doctor Strange" also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.
