Ben Affleck Has Written A “Really Cool” “Batman” Script

For fans of Ben Affleck’s take on the Dark Knight in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” here’s some potentially good news: the actor/screenwriter has penned a script for a solo “Batman” feature film. The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter‘s interview with William Morris Endeavor’s co-CEO Patrick Whitesell.

In the interview, Whitesell details Affleck’s current contract with Warner Bros. for their shared universe of DC films, saying that he’s “contracted to do at least ‘Justice League One’ and ‘Two,’ so at least three times wearing the cape.” The WME co-CEO aded that “there’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”

It’s likely that this is the script that Affleck has spoken about in previous interviews; last week the actor confirmed that he was indeed collaborating with DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns on a script. It was rumored last summer during Comic-Con International that Affleck and Johns were co-writing the script for the next solo Batman film, which would also star and be directed by Affleck. A solo Batman film has not been added to Warner Bros.’ superhero slate, and they have not yet confirmed the existence of the project.

Affleck’s debut as Batman, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” is currently in theaters.
