"Liberty Meadows" creator Frank Cho announced last month that he'd be focusing on creator-owned projects in the future, including a series titled "World Of Payne" written by Tom Sniegoski. Today at Baltimore Comic-Con, more details of the project were revealed including story elements and a publisher -- Flesk Publications -- who will debut the urban fantasy series in Spring 2015.

According to a press release issued by Baltimore Comic-Con, the book centers around a psychic private investigator named Lockwood Payne, "who is actually a modern day sorcerer from an ancient society of witches and wizards and his strange misadventures in the world of the occult and unrealities. Along the way, he's helped by his ever-loyal and unflappable friend, Doctor Hurt, an urgent care doctor in the strip mall next door to Payne's office, and the beautiful Michelle, a witch-in-training." The series will be told in a hybrid format, mixing traditional comic book storytelling with prose elements.

Sniegoski is an acclaimed novelist who has also frequently partnered with writer Christopher Golden on books and comic books set in the world of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Sniegoski's comic book resume includes books for Marvel, DC and Image Comics.

The Spring release of "World of Payne: Book 0 - Ghost Dog" will introduce all the major characters of this world and set up the upcoming horror adventure book series. There is currently no word on how many books are planned for the series.
