BBC America To Air <i>Law & Order: U.K.</i> (<i>chung CHUNG!</i>)

For those of us still sulking about the cancellation of Law & Order yet not exactly excited about the prospect of Law & Order: L.A.LOLA, as the cool kids call it — BBC America has announced it will air the spinoff Law & Order: U.K. beginning Oct. 3.

Debuting in February 2009 on ITV, the drama follows the tried-and-true franchise format, with the first half of each episode devoted to the crime and the subsequent police investigation, and the second half focusing on the legal aspect and court proceedings.

Law & Order: U.K. stars Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) as Detective Superintendent Matt Devlin, Bradley Walsh (The Old Curiosity Shop) as Detective Superintendent Ronnie Brooks, Ben Daniels (The Passion, The State Within) as Senior Crown Prosecutor James Steel, and Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who) as Junior Crown Prosecutor Alesha Phillips.
