On The CW's upcoming superhero series Batwoman, Kate Kane will rise up as Gotham City's protector and fight Alice and the Wonderland Gang. Now, Alice actor Rachel Skarsten has revealed a bit of new information about the series' main villain -- mainly, that her nemesis will not actually be Batwoman.

"She is the big bad of the show, she plays the main antagonist," Skarsten told TVLine. "She has a very complex relationship with Batwoman, played by Ruby Rose, and she sort of teeters between sane and completely insane -- which is really fun."

When asked what Alice and the Wonderland Gang's goal will ultimately be, the actor answered, "I think at this point she has an ax to grind with another character in the show who I can't say, but it will be revealed. She has this sort of personal vendetta against that character, and then of course she also wants to just random Gotham and bring mayhem wherever she goes."

In the comic books, Alice was revealed to be Kate Kane's identical twin sister Beth, who was long thought dead. Of course, there is no telling if the television series' version of Alice will be Kate's sister but, if that is the case, then perhaps the character she has an ax to grind with is her father Colonel Jacob Kane, who will feature on the show.

Given that the twist is well-known among comic fans, it's also possible Batwoman will take some liberties with the villain, as Arrowverse shows like The Flash and Arrow have done with many comic book characters.

Written by Caroline Dries and developed by Bertlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series will air on Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT. However, no premiere date has been announced yet.
