If all goes well, Tricia Helfer will make her return to television this fall. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Battlestar Galactica actress has signed on to star in ABC's Killer Women pilot. The project is based on an Argentinian drama and executive produced by Modern Family star Sofia Vergara and Martin Campbell, who is also set to direct the pilot.

Killer Women focuses on Molly Parker, the only female member of the the Texas Rangers. THR describes the character more fully: "Helfer will star as Molly, the ballsy, beautiful badass who knows how to get to the truth and isn't afraid to ruffle a few feathers on her way there. The sheriff's daughter has a doctorate in gender studies as well as a Miss Texas crown from 1992. Handpicked to be one of the two female Texas Rangers, she is a forensic specialist, an interrogation ace and can shoot with deadly precision. Her personal life, meanwhile, is a mess -- as the recently divorced Molly now lives with her older brother Billy and her two rowdy nieces."

Since Battlestar went off the air, Helfer has starred in canceled shows like Dark Blue and The Firm and also lends her voice to the Disney XD cartoon Tron: Uprising.
