Henry Cavill will reprise his "Man of Steel" role in 2015's Batman/Superman film.

Though much of 2015's film pairing DC Comics heroes Batman and Superman remains under wraps, it's now known where at least some of the movie will be shot. The Michigan Film Office announced Thursday that the Warner Bros. production will film in metro Detroit and across Michigan, "sometime in the first quarter of 2014."

The move grants the production a $35 million tax credit, based on a projected $131 million of expenditures in the state. The city of Detroit filed for bankruptcy last month, the largest US city to do so in history.

"Detroit is a great example of a quintessential American city, and I know it will make the perfect backdrop for our movie," director Zack Snyder said in a statement. "Detroit and the entire state of Michigan have been fantastic collaborators, and we are looking forward to working together on this film."

The Michigan Film Office's press release touts the impact the film is expected to have on the state, with an estimated "full-time equivalent" of 426 jobs, plus the use of roughly 500 local vendors, and $5.1 million revenue to local hotels.

This comes a week after the news that Ben Affleck will be playing Batman in the film, an announcement met with a very vocal -- and frequently negative -- reaction from online fans.

The currently untitled film is a sequel to this summer's "Man of Steel," with Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent) all reprising their roles. Snyder returns as director, and is co-writing with "Man of Steel" screenwriter David S. Goyer.
