Just a day after Warner Bros. Animation revealed details of the accompanying Catwoman short, MTV’s Spash Page has premiered the official trailer for the animated adaptation of Batman: Year One.

Based on the acclaimed 1987 story arc by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, Batman: Year One recounts the beginning of Bruce Wayne’s career as the Dark Knight and Jim Gordon’s with the Gotham City Police Department as the two grapple with violence, corruption and crime boss Carmine “The Roman” Falcone.

Directed by Sam Liu and Lauren Montgomery, the PG-13 film stars Ben McKenzie (The O.C., Southland) as Bruce Wayne, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as James Gordon, Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Selina Kyle, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as Sarah Essen, and Alex Rocco (The Godfather) as Carmine Falcone.

The latest entry in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series will be released on Oct. 18 for DVD, Blu-ray, On Demand and digital download.
