"Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot revealed how she almost played popular Kryptonian villain Faora in "Man of Steel" and why she passed on it during an interview with Xnet (translated by HeroicHollywood).

"When I was a month pregnant with (my daughter) Alma, I got an offer to be the evil Superman character," she recalled. "If I wasn't pregnant I'd take the job, and there's no way they would take me now to be Wonder Woman."

The role of Faora eventually went to Antje Traue, who became one of the most popular aspects on the polarizing film. As Gadot points out, turning down "Man of Steel" is what eventually allowed her to become Wonder Woman in Warner Bros.' upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." What's more, Gadot will go on to star in Wonder Woman's first solo film.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, "Wonder Woman" is scheduled for release on June 23, 2017. Before that, Gadot will star in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which is scheduled to open on March 25, 2016.
