"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," dubbed "the WTF comic book battle-royale," is nominated for eight Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.

If there's a silver lining, it's that the Warner Bros. film didn't receive the most nominations for the 37th annual awards, which recognize the worst in cinema. That dubious honor goes to the Ben Stiller comedy "Zoolander 2," with nine.
"Batman v Superman" also earned nods for Worst Actor (Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill), Worst Supporting Actor (Jesse Eisenberg), Worst Screen Combo (Affleck and Cavill), Worst Director (Zack Snyder) and Worst Screenplay.
Jeremy Irons, who was shortlisted in the Worst Supporting Actor category for his performance as Alfred Pennyworth, didn't make the final cut. "Suicide Squad," which had been shortlisted in five categories, ended up with just two nominations, for Worst Screenplay and Worst Actor (Jared Leto).
The (ahem) winners of the 37th Razzie Awards will be announced Saturday, Feb. 25, the night before the Academy Awards.
