A production designer on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, has shared his vision for the Parademons, the monstrous shock troops of Apokolips that make a return in Justice League.

These swarming aliens were first glimpsed in the "Knightmare" sequence of Batman v Superman, in which Bruce Wayne experiences a vision of an apocalyptic world brought about by an evil Man of Steel. The insect-like monsters were seen attacking soldiers in the desert, but there were few close-ups of the fast-moving figures.

The design by Patrick Tatopoulos captures the horrifying bug creatures that Jack Kirby initially intended them to be. They may not have their traditional yellow-and-green color scheme, but the overall design is pretty faithful to the source material.

Introduced by Kirby in 1971's The New Gods #1 , the Parademons serve as the foot soldiers in Darkseid's army. In Justice League, they will be led by Darkseid's uncle, Steppenwolf.

Arriving Nov. 17, Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and J. K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
