Warner Bros. animated "Batman: The Killing Joke" is just over a week away from its big debut. The adaptation of the classic Alan Moore and Brian Bolland story features the return of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill to the roles of Batman and the Joker, and it also sees Tara Strong reprising her role as Batgirl. In an interview with DC All Access, Strong discussed Barbara Gordon's role in the story.

"I can tell you that in 'Batman: The Killing Joke,' Barbara Gordon will not disappoint the fans that have been waiting to see this story," said Strong. "It's completely dark and she does stuff that she's never done on any series I've ever worked on. She's strong and she's older and wiser but dark. It's really really a cool place for her to be."

The interview is also interspersed with action footage of Batgirl leaping around the streets of Gotham and diving into action, running across the top of an 18-wheeler and clashing with criminals. In the interview, Strong also recounts her original audition for Batgirl and details what it's like to reconnect with Conroy and Hamill.

"Batman: The Killing Joke" will be available for Digital HD download on July 26, and arrives on Blu-ray/DVD on August 2.
