Fathom Events has added 300 theaters to its one-night screening of "Batman: The Killing Joke," pushing the theater-count for the release past 1,000 screens. The R-rated DC Comics-based animated adaptation is now the widest release in the company's history.

The special screening -- taking place at 7:30pm and 10:00pm (local time) on Monday, July 25 -- will include a presentation of the feature, in addition to a never-before-seen documentary about Mark Hamill's fandom of the source material and his passion for the animated project. The event will also feature a behind-the-scenes look at Joker's song and dance number in the film. "The Killing Joke" is being remastered in 2K for the presentation.

Warner Bros. Animation's "Batman: The Killing Joke" stars Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as the Joker, Tara Strong as Barbara Gordon and Ray Wise as Commissioner Gordon. Directed by Sam Liu ("Justice League vs. Teen Titans"), the film comes from a script by Eisner Award-winning writer Brian Azzarello. Bruce Timm and Sam Register are executive producers, and Alan Burnett is co-producer.

"Batman: The Killing Joke" will be available for Digital HD download on July 26, and arrives on Blu-ray/DVD on August 2.
