When Bruce Wayne returned from the supposed dead, writer Grant Morrison decided to send the Dark Knight Detective down a path that combined the idea of Batman with the world of Bruce Wayne, and as such in the new ongoing series “Batman Incorporated,” the Caped Crusader goes corporate.
Two issues in, the global expansion of the Batman brand hit the shores of Japan when Batman teamed with Mr. Unknown. With February’s “Batman Incorporated” #3, he heads to South America for a meet, greet and hit-the-streets with Argentina’s El Gaucho. However, that’s all merely the beginning.
Continuing its unveiling of plans for the DCU in 2011, The Source debuted an image today from Batman’s upcoming Argentinean adventure by series artist Yanick Paquette. Writer Grant Morrison shared a few words on the Dark Knight’s future, including run ins with Chief-Man-of-Bats, Batgirl and the debut of the Batman of Africa.
“Bruce Wayne’s back from the dead with barely a moment to catch his breath before he must prepare for the battle of his life in ‘Batman Inc,'” Morrison told the Source. “On the way towards this ultimate confrontation, Batman and El Gaucho, Argentina’s No.1 crimebuster, face a terrifying new villain whose world-shaking master plan stretches across 2 decades, 3 countries and 3 interlocked issues, which also feature Batwoman, a whole new team of British heroes and the debut of The Batman of Africa, in a dark and twisted super-espionage thriller.”
“And waiting in the wings are team-ups with Chief-Man-of-Bats, Batgirl and a mind-blowing CGI adventure with Oracle, as piece by piece, we learn the secrets of Batman Inc. and find out what Bruce is REALLY up to!”
