And so it begins. I imagine since Joseph Gordon-Levitt was cast in director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, “Inception,” people have thought there might be a role for the actor in the third “Begins” movies. He’s a good actor and in some photos can bear a striking resemblance to the late Heath Ledger. I’m a little surprised not to see rumors about him in print before now, but Hollwood Life (via Collider) now claims the actor is being considered for the role of the Riddler. “It’s not 100% confirmed that he’s getting [the role of The Riddler] but there’s certainly talk about it. Joseph is definitely on the short list,” says their insider. My old boilerplate for casting rumors is no more as a story now exists and, really, this is a plausible rumor — unlike “Cher as Catwoman” or the infamous “Miley Cyrus tries out for Batgirl in costume.”
Release date: July 20th, 2012
Over at Comic Book Movie, Pietro Filipponi discusses the possibility of a Marvel Savage Land film. “A rumor began circulating the net several days ago, regarding Marvel Studio’s possible pursuit of several actors for the role of Ka-Zar. I took this information to one of my reliable sources at the studio, who told me Marvel has been planning a Savage Land film for some time now. Any official casting or production work on the adaptation is still very far away, since the studio is completely focused on their next two projects, ‘Captain America’ and ‘The Avengers’,” he writes. According to his studio source, the Savage Land has already been referenced in Marvel films.

THE GREEN HORNET
IGN UK reports a trailer for the film will premiere on “The Jimmy Kimmel Show” June 21st. “The Green Hornet himself, Seth Rogen, will be Kimmel’s guest that night and will introduce the trailer,” they write.
Staring Seth Rogen, release date: January 14th, 2011
Though the first film is still shooting, a sequel is already in the works. As we reported last night on CBR, writers Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim have been hired to craft a treatment for the sequel and a new treatment for “The Flash.” While an unusual move, it has been noted Warner Bros likes the stability the “Harry Potter” franchise offered them and wants to mold the DC superheroes into a replacement for that series.
Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011
Stan Lee gives MTV News his thoughts on the “Give Donald Glover an Audition” campaign:

JOHN CARTER OF MARS
Johncartermovie.com has an interview with star Taylor Kitsch. “What attracted me was [director Andrew Stanton] and his vision and of course a story that has never been told, plus to be in a character driven adventure,” says the actor. “I defintitely [sic] have gone through books but did put them down when starting work with the script which has more depth in regards to John Carter’s background.”

THE WALKING DEAD
Variety reports AMC has set up a deal with Fox International to distribute the series overseas. “Deal came about because ‘The Walking Dead’ is being produced internally at AMC, which doesn’t have a distribution unit. Inhouse productions are common at cable nets such as FX and USA, but ‘Dead’ reps the first inhouse production at AMC (‘Mad Men’ comes from Lionsgate, ‘Breaking Bad’ from Sony and ‘Rubicon’ from Warner Horizon),” they write. “We think there’s a universality to this type of story, plus the genre travels well and has a longevity to it that makes it a really good business opportunity,” says AMC President Charlie Collier.
Time for a new trailer for the Phantom (thanks to Sci Fi Wire):
Certainly faster-paced than previous spots for the miniseries.
Airdate: June 20th, 2010
Recently, a group of friends have been going to a quiz night at a local bar. It seems like the hip thing to do, but I know quiz nights are nothing new. Have they recently become popular elsewhere in the country or is this just the tide of trends smacking me in the face? Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of the “It’s All Related” round.
