Canadian engineer James Hobson, A.K.A. The Hacksmith, is a dedicated Batman fan with a bit of a history building working Batman gadgets, but his latest creation is something special — a working grappling hook gun!

James's stated goal is to recreate "all of Batman's gadgets to see if someone could become a real-life Batman." That said, he doesn't give away absolutely everything about his latest build in the video, and considering it's the projectile launching part of the project that he skips over, that is probably for the best.

Still, there is plenty of footage of The Hacksmith's equipment tests, and his channel reveals that his grappling gun "can shoot distances of up to 150[feet,] using 3mm kevlar rope which is rated for 2000lbs! It is lightweight, and probably the smallest grappling hook gun ever created. In our next video we will be finishing our prototype 8HP electric super winch that will allow us ascend buildings faster than anything commercially available!"

It will definitely be interesting to see which bits of WayneTech gadgetry, the Hacksmith will be tackling next!
