ComicBook.com reports that Marvel Comics has two new "AXIS"-themed three-issue miniseries planned that center on two very recognizable villains from Spider-Man's corner of the Marvel U: "AXIS: Carnage" by Rick Spears and German Peralta; and "AXIS: Hobgoblin" by Kevin Shinick and Javier Rodriguez. Coming this October, the two minis will deal with Kletus Cassady -- newly re-bonded with the Carnage symbiote in "Superior Carnage" -- and Roderick Kingsley, who hasn't been seen since getting off the radar in "Superior Spider-Man."

While details on both series were sparse, ComicBook.com did speak with the editors on the two projects, Nick Lowe and Ellie Pyle, about what to expect from the upcoming miniseries.

"When talking about this with ['AXIS' writer Rick] Remender, he made it clear the only person capable of the madness necessary to get Carnage through 'AXIS' was Rick Spears," Lowe told ComicBook.com. "And he wasn't wrong. Rick's plan is so wonderfully insane and while I can't say much without giving 'AXIS' away, it's going to shock and appall just about everybody."

"Ever since we wrapped Superior Spider-Man Team-up I've been looking for a another project for Kevin Shinick, and his unique voice is a perfect match for this book, which will be unlike any Hobgoblin story you have ever seen." Pyle said of "AXIS: Hobgoblin." "And Javier Rodriguez brought his phenomenal storytelling skills to Phil Urich's fall in the last Superior Spider-Man Annual, but just wait until you see the crazy charm he brings to the one and only original Hobgoblin!"

"AXIS: Carnage" and "AXIS: Hobgoblin" hit stores in October.
