Filming on "Avengers: Infinity War" is set to begin relatively soon in Atlanta, and while we know that Doctor Strange will return for the ensemble film, it appears Marvel Studios will be forced to use a body double for Benedict Cumberbatch's initial scenes.

The in-demand "Sherlock" star, who debuted as the Sorcerer Supreme in November's "Doctor Strange," is busy shooting "The Current War," the biographical film about Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse that co-stars "Spider-Man: Homecoming's" Tom Holland. Because of the scheduling conflict, Page Six reports, Marvel has hired Broadway actor Aaron Lazar as Cumberbatch's body double.

It's worth noting, however, that the studio won't digitally superimpose Cumberbatch's face onto another actor's body; instead, Lazar will serve as a stand-in until Cumberbatch is available for reshoots.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo ("Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Captain America: Civil War"), "Infinity War" will mark Cumberbatch's third appearance as Marvel's Master of the Mystic Arts. Following Thor's cameo in the mid-credits of "Doctor Strange," we know Cumberbatch's character will appear in "Thor: Ragnarok." That was originally revealed by D23, Disney's official fan club, and then confirmed last week by Loki actor Tom Hiddleston.
