While most of the news this weekend is coming from San Diego's Comic-Con International, some of it is coming directly from the biggest stars involved in next year's biggest films.

A new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Avengers: Infinity War shared via Robert Downey Jr's Instagram shows the Iron Man actor getting chummy with Josh Brolin, who plays Thanos, The Mad Titan. While the two seem to be sharing a laugh on set, it's likely they have been filming a showdown between their respective characters, especially considering Brolin is wearing the performance capture technology on his face to bring his Thanos to life.

It's appropriate that the two would clash in Avengers: Infinity War as Thanos first debuted as an Iron Man enemy, way back in Jim Starlin and Mike Friedrich's Iron Man #55 and as the hero who kicked off the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's only fitting that Iron Man lead the charge against Thanos. There have been rumors swirling for years at this point that the third Avengers film would see the death of a heroic Avenger; we just hope there isn't a dark secret in the origins of this candid shot.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War boasts a sprawling ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie. The film arrives in theaters May 4, 2018, with the untitled sequel opening May 3, 2019.
