Marvel's April 2014 solicitations revealed a number of new surprises on the horizon for the House of Ideas, but there was one series notably absent: "Avengers Assemble." Via her personal tumblr, series writer Kelly Sue DeConnick has confirmed that "Avengers Assemble" #25 will be the series' final issue.

"[Warren] Ellis wants me to tell you he 'murdered it with special English curse magics,' but in truth the book fulfilled its mandate, so it's done with issue 25," DeConnick said via tumblr. "Thank you SO MUCH for all the support -- it's been a blast."

"Avengers Assemble" launched in 2012 as a series focusing primarily on the cast from "The Avengers" movie, though the series evolved over time to feature a number of Avengers from across the Marvel U. Although Brian Michael Bendis launched the book, for the bulk of its lifetime, it was written by DeConnick, who took over as head writer on "Avengers Assemble" #9. For the recent "Inhumanity" crossover issues, DeConnick was joined by Warren Ellis.

"Avengers Assemble" #25 hits stores in March, wrapping yup the current "Inhumanity" tie-in arc.
