Marvel's "Avengers Assemble" is not cancelled

Contrary to reports circulating online, "Avengers Assemble" is not cancelled, Marvel Comics has told CBR News.

Earlier Tuesday morning, Midtown Comics, who fulfills Marvel Comics' mail order service, released a newsletter update indicating that subscribers to the Kelly Sue DeConnick-scripted title would be having their orders for the book shifted to Jonathan Hickman's "Avengers" series due to the former's impending cancellation.

However, when approached by CBR for confirmation, Marvel stated the series is not going anywhere. Indeed, late last week, Marvel announced that following the title's current crossover with DeConnick's "Captain Marvel," "Avengers: The Enemy Within," the book is set to tie-in with Hickman's "Infinity," the publisher's major late-summer event featuring the Avengers, Thanos and more.

Midtown Comics is expected to release an updated newsletter correcting the error shortly.

UPDATE: Marvel and Midtown have sent out a newsletter update correcting the error.

Whoops! Has Kang been messing with the timestream or have we just been getting confused?

The Avengers keep on assembling! Avengers Assemble is not ending, it's carrying on its merry way, and its loyal subscribers will stay right where they are.

Marvel Universe Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes will also be keeping on track.

We're so sorry about the confusion! Avengers forever!

Sincerely,

Your friends at Marvel
